Ich übernehme die Verantwortung für den sicheren Betrieb und die stetige Weiterentwicklung der Compute-Umgebungen bei 50Hertz.
Das macht den Job für mich interessant: Als Innovationstreiber in der Energiebranche bringt 50Hertz die Integration erneuerbarer Energien voran. Der umfangreiche Netzausbau kann nicht ohne die Bereitstellung von IT-Infrastruktur und Netzwerken realisiert werden. Als Teil unseres internationalen IT‑Infrastruktur‑Teams verantworte Ich den stabilen Betrieb sowie die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung unserer hochverfügbaren On‑Premise‑Compute‑ Plattformen (VMware). In meiner Rolle als DevOps Engineer - Compute treibe ich eigenverantwortlich den Wissenstransfer voran.
Meine Aufgaben:
- Design, Standardisierung und strategische Weiterentwicklung der Compute-Plattformen (Virtualisierung, x86-Server-Infrastruktur und Management-Systeme) unter Berücksichtigung von Architektur-, Sicherheits- und Compliance-Anforderungen sowie technologischen Roadmaps
- Durchführung technischer Bewertungen, Reviews und Audits technischer Lösungen sowie Ableitung von Optimierungsmaßnahmen hinsichtlich Performance, Verfügbarkeit, Skalierbarkeit, Sicherheit und Automatisierungsgrad
- Beratung und Wissensvermittlung innerhalb der IT-Organisation zu Architektur-, Automatisierungs- und Betriebsstandards
- Weiterentwicklung der GitOps- und Infrastructure-as-Code-basierten Betriebsplattform sowie Entwicklung von Automatisierungs- und Self-Service-Lösungen unter Einsatz moderner Automatisierungswerkzeuge und Programmierschnittstellen (auf Basis von Ansible, PowerCLI, Python, PowerShell und REST-APIs)
- Zonenübergreifende Implementierung, Administration und Weiterentwicklung der Compute-Infrastruktur sowie Sicherstellung eines sicheren, stabilen und hochverfügbaren Plattformbetriebs
- Planung, Durchführung und Dokumentation von Disaster-Recovery- und Business-Continuity-Maßnahmen.
- Durchführung von Kapazitäts-, Performance- und Verfügbarkeitsanalysen
- Analyse und nachhaltige Behebung komplexer Störungen sowie Mitarbeit im Incident-, Problem- und Change-Management einschließlich 3rd-Level-Support und Bereitschaftsdienst (24/7)
Meine Kompetenzen:
- Abgeschlossenes Studium oder Berufsausbildung im Bereich (Wirtschafts-) Informatik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung,
- Mehrjährige Erfahrung im Design, Betrieb und der Weiterentwicklung von Compute-, Virtualisierungs- und Infrastrukturplattformen sowie fundierte Kenntnisse in IT-Architektur und Plattformdesign
- Umfassende Erfahrung mit VMware-Umgebungen, x86-Server-Hardware sowie dem Performance-, Kapazitäts- und Lifecycle-Management von Compute-Plattformen
- Tiefgehendes Verständnis von Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps und modernen Automatisierungskonzepten sowie praktische Erfahrung mit Python, PowerShell, Ansible, PowerCLI und REST-APIs
- Kenntnisse von Backup-, Restore-, Disaster-Recovery- sowie Security-, Compliance- und Governance-Anforderungen
- Selbstständige und proaktive Arbeitsweise
- Sprachkenntnisse: Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (C1) und gute Englischkenntnisse (B2).

As one of the four transmission grid operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for high-voltage power transmission; control at this level is decisive for the stability of the grid and to ensure a secure electricity supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid association, working closely with colleagues throughout Europe. 50Hertz is part of a European company, working alongside Belgian grid operator Elia in the Elia Group. We work together closely in many key areas. Individual activities such as IT or purchasing are organised at the group level, which means that in these areas colleagues from Elia and 50Hertz work in a team from both Berlin and Brussels.
