Das macht diesen Job für mich interessant: Vor dem Hintergrund der europaweit voranschreitenden Energiewende gewinnen Analysen und Bewertungen der Versorgungssicherheit des europäischen Energiesystems und der Strommärkte für meine Arbeit zunehmend an Bedeutung. Ich bin Teil von 50Hertz, einem der vier Übertragungsnetzbetreiber (ÜNB) in Deutschland, und trage dazu bei, Strom auf Höchstspannungsebene zu transportieren und damit die Energiewende mit hohem Tempo sowie hoher Versorgungssicherheit voranzubringen. Gemeinsam mit dem belgischen Übertragungsnetzbetreiber Elia mit Sitz in Brüssel arbeite ich in der international tätigen Elia Group.
Meine Aufgaben:
- Versorgungssicherheit für Deutschland und Europa gestalten,
- Europäische Energiewende aktiv mitanalysieren und mitprägen,
- ÜNB‑übergreifend in starken europäischen Teams zusammenarbeiten,
- Innovative Methoden zur Bewertung von Versorgungssicherheit entwickeln,
- Daten, Modelle und IT nutzen, um komplexe Energiesysteme verständlich zu machen,
- Grundlagen für energiepolitische Entscheidungen schaffen,
- Kapazitätsmarkt in Deutschland analytisch begleiten,
- Ergebnisse wirkungsvoll intern und extern kommunizieren,
- International vernetzt arbeiten – in Deutsch und Englisch.
Meine Kompetenzen:
- Abgeschlossenes Studium (Master oder Diplom) der Elektrotechnik/Energietechnik, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Physik, Mathematik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung,
- Hohes Interesse an der Analyse komplexer Wirkzusammenhänge sowie deren geeignete Darstellung und Kommunikation,
- Sehr gute Fachkenntnisse in der Marktmodellierung sowie der Anwendung von Marktsimulationsprogrammen,
- Ausgeprägte Programmierkenntnisse, insbesondere in Python, sowie Erfahrungen in Datenhaltung,
- Tiefe energiewirtschaftliche Kenntnisse,
- Verhandlungssicheres Deutsch- und Englisch (jeweils mindestens C1) in Wort und Schrift.
Kein Muss, aber von Vorteil:
- Gutes Verständnis der sektorübergreifenden Zusammenhänge im deutschen und europäischen Energiesystem,
- Erfahrungen in der Entwicklung und Aufbereitung von Szenarien,
- Erfahrungen im Umgang mit großen Datenmengen und Datenbanken.

As one of the four transmission grid operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for high-voltage power transmission; control at this level is decisive for the stability of the grid and to ensure a secure electricity supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid association, working closely with colleagues throughout Europe. 50Hertz is part of a European company, working alongside Belgian grid operator Elia in the Elia Group. We work together closely in many key areas. Individual activities such as IT or purchasing are organised at the group level, which means that in these areas colleagues from Elia and 50Hertz work in a team from both Berlin and Brussels.

As a Communication Scientist, I have transitioned into the IT sector from a different field.
