Project Manager Cable Production and Installation (HVDC) (f/m/d)

Technical leadership of HVDC cable products, covering design to commissioning, with strong planning and stakeholder management to deliver complex international cable product scopes across suppliers and partners.

In my role, I lead a team of highly engaged experts and directly manage suppliers across the technical design, engineering, and production of DC cable systems, including testing and commissioning. The focus of my responsibility lies on the cable product itself, from design freeze through qualification and manufacturing until final commissioning of the cable system.

My tasks

• Full responsibility for the design and delivery of HVDC cable systems (onshore and offshore), including accessories, fiber optic systems, and cable monitoring – excluding cable installation activities,
• Management of all relevant project phases related to the DC cable system including permitting support, tendering, design, qualification, manufacturing and commissioning,
• Functional leadership of multidisciplinary teams and coordination of external service providers involved in cable design, qualification, manufacturing and commissioning,
• Responsibility for HSE, schedule, cost, contract, quality, and risk management within the assigned package (cable product).

My skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable discipline, with solid experience in HVDC/HVAC cable systems,
• Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience across cable design, manufacturing, qualification, FATs, testing, and commissioning in HV DC cable as well as preferably fiber optic cable,
• Ability to present and represent technical topics clearly and convincingly at different management and project levels,
• Ability to plan and control resources, milestones, budgets, and risks,
• Strong capability in cross‑functional and cross‑project interface management, coordinating with procurement, permitting, substations/converters, asset management, and project partners,
• English proficiency at C1 (business fluent / negotiable) level.

Not a must, but advantageous

• Experience in functional leadership of multidisciplinary internal teams and external service, providers, including direct technical steering of suppliers,
• German language skills are an advantage.
