We are 50Hertz - one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, more than 1,600 people work to ensure that electricity flows reliably at all times, with low losses and optimised control over long distances. As a TSO, we play a key moderating role in the realisation of the energy transition from a social, technical and economic perspective. Our goal: to safely integrate 100 per cent renewable energy into the grid and system by 2032.

Deine Aufgaben:
- Du unterstützt das Fachgebiet Betriebsführung und Projektumsetzung bei täglichen Aufgaben,
- Du lernst aktuelle Neubauprojekte von Freileitungen, Kabeln für die Hochspannungs-Gleichstrom-Übertragung und Umspannwerken kennen,
- Du stellst umfassende Daten für die Bewertung des Lebenszyklus von verschiedenen Bauteilen zusammen,
- Du entwirfst neue Konzepte die Nachhaltigkeit der Bauvorhaben bei 50Hertz zu verbessern,
- Du setzt identifizierte Maßnahmen in eigenen kleinen Pilotprojekten um.

- Dein Bachelor- oder Masterstudium mit dem Schwerpunkt Bauingenieurwesen, Umweltingenieurwesen, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Sustainable Engineering, Baustoffingenieurwesen oder ähnliches engagiert verfolgst.
- Neugierig bist auf verschiedene Projekte und dich gerne an neuen Aufgaben versuchst,
- Gerne zu neuen technischen Verfahren, Hintergründen und Lieferketten recherchierst,
- Dich durch Organisationstalent, Teamorientierung, eine selbständige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise sowie Kommunikationsfähigkeit auszeichnest.
Erste Vorkenntnisse im nachhaltigen Bauen sind kein Muss, machen deine Bewerbung aber zusätzlich interessant für uns.

Towards a successful energy transition in a sustainable world
As one of the four transmission grid operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for high-voltage power transmission; control at this level is decisive for the stability of the grid and to ensure a secure electricity supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid association, working closely with colleagues throughout Europe. 50Hertz is part of a European company, working alongside Belgian grid operator Elia in the Elia Group. We work together closely in many key areas. Individual activities such as IT or purchasing are organised at the group level, which means that in these areas colleagues from Elia and 50Hertz work in a team from both Berlin and Brussels.

Typical areas of work for construction engineers at 50Hertz
Asset Management: This involves developing the principles and guidelines required to handle the construction-related challenges that arise throughout the organisation.
Projects, cables, substations, and offshore: These divisions carry out all renovation and new build projects in our main areas of construction such as overhead power lines and cable traverses, substations, and switchgear, as well as offshore construction.
Grid operation: Here the status of our installations and structures is monitored, necessary actions are identified, and maintenance projects are initiated and implemented.
