Unterstütze uns bei der Weiterentwicklung europäischer Energiesystemmodelle und schaffe so eine Entscheidungs- und Handlungsgrundlage für die zukünftige (Ausbau- / Bau-) Planung der 50Hertz-Regelzone.
Das macht den Job für dich interessant: Du wirst aktiv an der Energiewende in Europa mitwirken, aktuelle Fragestellungen im Energiemarkt analysieren und an Leitmodellen für europäische Netzplanungsprozesse arbeiten. Du suchst ein Pflichtprakitkum mit einer Dauer von 4-6 Monaten? Dann bewirb dich, um aktuelle und interessante Aufgaben in unserem engagierten und internationalen Team zu übernehmen.
Deine Aufgaben:
- Durchführung und Ergebnisauswertung von Modellrechnungen im europäischen Kontext,
- Unterstützung bei der Ausarbeitung und Anwendung neuer Modellkomponenten und Methoden, insbesondere zu Technologien der Sektorkopplung (z. B. Wasserstoff, Elektromobilität),
- Anpassung und Erweiterung von Python-Skripten,
- Aufbereitung, Analyse und Visualisierung großer energiewirtschaftlicher Datensätze,
- Mitarbeit bei der Bewertung und Nutzung offener Modellierungswerkzeuge (z. B. PyPSA‑Eur, Open‑TYNDP).

- Dein fortgeschrittenes Bachelor-Studium oder idealerweise Master-Studium in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Energiewirtschaft, Energietechnik, Elektrotechnik, Physik oder vergleichbar engagiert verfolgst,
- Grundkenntnisse energiewirtschaftlicher Zusammenhänge mitbringst,
- Erste Erfahrungen mit mathematischer Optimierung und/oder Energiesystemmodellen machen konntest,
- Über vertiefte Kenntnisse in der Programmiersprache Python verfügst und Clean Code sowie Git keine Fremdwörter für dich sind,
- Die gängigen MS-Office-Programme (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) beherrschst,
- Ein hohes Maß an Selbstorganisation, Zuverlässigkeit und Analysefähigkeit an den Tag legst,
- Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse (C1) in Wort und Schrift aufweist.
Erste Erfahrungen mit PyPSA und PyPSA-Eur machen deine Bewerbung besonders interessant für uns.

As one of the four transmission grid operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for high-voltage power transmission; control at this level is decisive for the stability of the grid and to ensure a secure electricity supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid association, working closely with colleagues throughout Europe. 50Hertz is part of a European company, working alongside Belgian grid operator Elia in the Elia Group. We work together closely in many key areas. Individual activities such as IT or purchasing are organised at the group level, which means that in these areas colleagues from Elia and 50Hertz work in a team from both Berlin and Brussels.
